هر برگه اين کتاب از نخبگان فرهنگي  اناث سر زمين پر غرور افغانستان در دوره هاي  مختلف  تاريخ بحث  مينمايد. مشعلداران فرهنگ به خاطر زوال تاريکي هاي  سنتي در هرگونه شرايط چون کوهپايه هاي شامخ پامير قد راست کردند و در آسمان مطبوعات کشور پرتو افشاني نمودند.

خانم هاي ارجمند  کشور با مبارزه پيگير شان جاده پرخم و پيچ را جانبازانه پيمودند و راه را بر ديگران هموار ساختند.

    زنان روشنگر افغانستان حق  دارند که کارنامه هاي تاريخي شان ثبت  گردد و منحيث  گنجينه  ارزشمند  براي آيندگان تقديم  شود.

    تا با گذشت زمان  از خاطره ها فراموش نگرديده، بلکه در نقش سرمايه هاي ملي و معنوي  و شخصيت  هاي بزرگ فرهنگي کشور جاودانه باشند.

در چند دهه پسين باهجوم تجاوز بيگانگان وجنگهاي خانمانسوز داخلي، چهره  زنان افغانستان  در رسانه هاي جمعي  جهان  بيانگر افسردگي ها ناشي از جنگ بوده  است.  جهان در شناخت  زنان فرهنگي کشور ما اگاهي  لازم  ندارند. بنا ً  کتاب حاضر بيانگر خدمات ارزشمند  فرهنگي زنان در جامعه افغاني  ميباشد.

 
    در اين کتاب زندگينامه  (94) خانم درج گرديده و درحدود (100) تن ديگر  بنا بر عدم دريافت آدرسهاي شان، با نام گرفتن بسنده شده اند.

اين کتاب  بيانگر تاريخ مختصر تياتر در جهان و افغانستان، ايجاد راديو، سينما، تلويزيون در افغانستان و ذکر نام  بنيادگذاران آن ميباشد.

    گذر از تنگناهاي نويسندگي سهل  نيست به خصوص  براي بنده  که اين اولين اثرم ميباشد، عاري  ازعيب  نخواهد  بود. آرزو ميبرم  بزرگان و دانشمندان بنده را عفو تقصيرات بدارند.

     مــاريا دارو

Maria Daro was born in the north eastern province of Baghlan, Afghanistan. Her parents had no formal education and her father worked as a carpenter.

In grade two, Maria had the opportunity to perform a puppet show for the Prime Minister of Afghanistan. From that early brush with the performing arts, she devoted herself to artistic pursuits.

When her family moved to the capital city of Kabul at the age of 10, Maria started writing poetry and short stories, some of which were published by newspapers and journals. Despite her age, Maria’s writing showed a maturity and depth that was uncommon for writers in Afghanistan.

At the age of 12, a family friend helped secure occasional work at Radio of Afghanistan, the national broadcaster. Here Maria would do everything from commercial advertisements to reading lengthy radio dramas, as well as perform in stage plays.

After finishing her education, Maria would go on to work in various departments at the Radio-Television of Afghanistan. After getting married and becoming a mother, Maria’s writing would frequently focus on women’s issues and she became a strong supporter of women’s equality.

After years of civil war, Maria and her family immigrated to Canada in 1997. Here she lives with her four sons and still writes frequently for Afghan publications around the world.

With the completion of her first book, Maria Daro chronicles the role women played in broadcasting and the performing arts in Afghanistan. She has interviewed and profiled most of the prominent female thinkers who now find themselves dispersed around the world. With her second book, a novel, close to completion Maria Daro hopes to remind people that Afghanistan has a rich cultural heritage that cannot be erased despite years of suffering.
